Who Decided Who Would Be Your Guides?

Spirit: You are part of the team that chooses who will be your closest companion during your incarnation. By that I mean the Guide you call your Guardian Angel Guide. Your Guardian Angel is your closest companion during your incarnation – closer than any other Guide, any relative on Earth or here on this side - of anyone.

Think about that: Your Guardian Angel is a closer companion to you, loves you more, is more vested in the success of your life on Earth, than your mother, than your father, than your brothers and sisters, than your child, than your spouse. I am telling you the truth. I know that seems hard for you to accept because you know how deeply your mother or your spouse or your other loved ones treasure you. Yet I repeat: Your Guardian Angel is closer.

By saying this, I am not in any way making your Earthplane relationships less. You have them for a reason. It is not an accident that you are in your life on Earth with the people you love—or those you hate, for that matter, but that is a subject for a different lesson. They are there for you, and you are there for them.

All I am saying is that it would benefit you to get to know your Guardian Angel, because that entity loves you even more and cares even more about supporting you during your life on Earth than any other being in your present life. Usually, your Guardian Angel Guide has lived past lives with you in the various roles such as best friend, spouse, parent, child, sibling, and so on. Some have brought you very close memories. Just remember that your Guardian Angel is NEVER a stranger to you. NEVER.

As to how this Guide whom you call your Guardian Angel is chosen, some parts of the process you may not be able to fully understand from your present vantage point, but the basics are that your soul gets together with a specialized team of Masters from the Council of Masters who serve your soul group. The work of these specialists is to help souls preparing to incarnate choose their parentage, and to help them choose the basic "outline" I will say, or framework, of their coming incarnation.

The lessons the soul who is going to reincarnate wants to learn while on Earth are defined. This is a detailed and "layered" process, because there are major lessons and minor ones and there are various options that come into play when a lesson is or is not learned. Maybe it will help to try to imagine if you were designing your baby’s life, and all the things you wanted that baby to experience, all the choices you wanted it to have, all the options. Let’s just say it takes awhile—even in this place of no time.

Once the outline or framework is complete, a proposal, we will call it, is drawn up, and if that is approved by the Masters, then a "call" is put out for Guides who have reached the level required to lead a team of Guides and who have an established relationship with the returning soul. You can think of a casting call, if you like. We do have a lot of "hams" among us, after all. Usually responses will come from between five and twenty well-trained Guides who are qualified and interested in working as that soul’s "Guardian Angel" for the planned lifetime of that soul. Your Guardian Angel is always your advocate, is always working from a deep and eternal love for you, and is always someone you know well here on this side and have approved as your Guardian Angel before you incarnated.
