FREE SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE This site was created in the hopes of spreading the awareness and knowledge taught to us from our Spiritual Teachers and the messages we carry with us through this life and into the next. The site is an ongoing reference point for all interested learners. The Spirit Guides' lessons shared here were taught during more than twenty years of friendship with and communication through Patricia Walton, a highly respected spiritual medium and channel. Though several spirit master teacher guides were channeled, for the sake of simplicity we will call them "Spirit" |

Euthanasia Learner: Does euthanasia eliminate the animal’s choice of how it wants or needs to die? Spirit: Why do you think that these animals that you love, that were so close to you during their lives on Earth when they lived in your home, did not choose the way they wanted or needed to die? These animals, more than any of the others, or I will say at least as much as any of the others, DID choose how they wanted their bodies to die. They chose, and then they prayed and worked hard to get their wishes through to their humans. They did not fear the death of their physical bodies. What they feared is that their humans would not help them leave and come Home. They trusted you, and you did not let them down. You were there for them. You did what they chose, what they wanted, what they needed in order to be free. Yes, they would have died eventually anyway. All living bodies on Earth will eventually die. But their work was done, the lessons they offered you were complete. There was nothing else they felt they could teach you. It was time for them to come Home. I guess it is obvious, Learners, but you do realize that animals who live with loving, caring humans who respect them and their needs and provide well for them will have to work harder when it is time to leave their bodies. They will not have as many accidents available to them – such as the terribly traumatic automobile accident. They will not have malnutrition or starvation available to them. Their choices will be limited. Sometimes they will need your help. It is often hard for them to leave you, but not for the reasons you may think. They are physical beings while on Earth, and so of course they struggle to survive, but they also have great inner peace about returning Home once they know their bodies are dying. They know they are not leaving you forever. They know they are simply preceding you and their other friends. What they sometimes do not know is how you will be affected by their departure. They sometimes fear that it will impede your spiritual growth, and they pray for you. They suffer as does any living thing whose body is dying. But their soul does not suffer. They do not wonder what is right. They do not resent you for helping them die when they can no longer live. They bless you. Now, do not misunderstand, if you chose to euthanize your animals because they were a nuisance to you, or because you could no longer afford their care, or similar reasons, they would be greatly saddened. They would, indeed, be distressed that they had not been able to help you grow spiritually in such an important area as respect for life. In cases like this, I do not say they would bless you. But neither would they curse you. They would be sad and they would pray for you. You ask why you still experience guilt and grief and anguish. The grief has no time limits. You grieve because you miss the one you love and are having difficulty perceiving their continued existence. What you are calling guilt is, in reality, simply another aspect of grief. Guilt certainly can exist, but if you followed your intuition in the first instance, then when you return to that knowing place, to your meditation, you find again the knowing that the decision you made was based in love and a desire to spare the animal from suffering. When you say you wish you had never made the decision, what you are really saying is that you are in pain from the loss of your friend. Were that friend to reappear in your arms tonight in the condition in which you last saw it on Earth, you would probably rush to your veterinarian for assistance. Sometimes worrying about whether or not you did the right thing is simply a plea for others to reassure you that you did. It is not a conscious ploy on your part, no, but it is, nevertheless, a tactic that you really don’t need to use to gain comfort, sweet Learners. Merely come to us. Go into your meditative state and come Home. We are all here loving you, and here is where your beloved animal friends are. Come and together we can visit and share the love you are missing so much. It is not your imagination any more than this class here today is your imagination.. Do not let the lack of ability to physically embrace your animal friends deny you – and them, by the way – the succinct joy of a few moments spent together Here, where everyone is healthy and whole and able to share the wonderful Love that is special to the two of you. If you do not know how to make this happen, simply ask your nearest Guide or Angel. I guarantee we will respond. |
