Be Mindful

Spirit: If, when you are walking on the South rim of the Grand Canyon, you are focused entirely on your desire to see it from the North rim, you will miss the wonderful opportunities that are only available to you from where you are now standing. You may be so focused on getting to the other side that you do not watch carefully enough where you are walking, and you may fall into the canyon and never actually fulfill your plan to see it from the other side.

Or you could find yourself eventually on that opposite side of the canyon, that North rim, seeing a beautiful view across to the South rim and realizing that you do not remember very much about what it was like. You may realize that you were so focused on the North Rim that you totally missed experiencing the South Rim. You can end up going in circles this way, constantly looking somewhere else and planning how to get there and imagining yourself there, all the while never noticing where you are standing right now.

Spirit: Read and examine and analyze, just as you do now. Learn from others’ experiences, too. Decide what seems wrong or ridiculous to you. Be open to change and to understanding concepts that seem what you might call far out, but don’t believe every concept just because it is far out. Don’t feel that you must agree with everything just because you sense that you are in touch with a genuine entity from the Light. Entities are not God, and you are free to not understand them or to disagree with their teaching.

They may be wrong, or they may be right but their messenger may not be clear, or you just may not be ready to incorporate that teaching into your truth. In other words, study, read, and think. As you do, your thinking will become expanded. Eventually you won’t think so much in your Earthplane’s negative terms. As you experience more of Heaven, its Light fills your soul and your mind expands to see things in an entirely different, higher way.

If you go to New York City, to the foot of the World Trade Center, and stand outside the doors and look across the street, you limit your viewpoint. You can see a limited distance in all directions, and you may think that the world stops where your sight does. But then if you look up at the skyscrapers, you see that there is something up there that you didn’t realize, and you see the possibility of getting a wider view. So you reach up, you might say, and you begin to take an elevator up. As you climb, gradually your view takes in more and more. When you finally get to the top, you find an entire world exists that you never dreamed of. And if you climb to the roof, you find that at certain times you can even feel as if you have an angel’s view, as if you are standing in the sky and seeing both the sky and the Earth.

Your vision and your thinking have expanded immensely from your starting point on the city sidewalk. Now you don’t feel that anger with the cab driver who yelled at you, because it just doesn’t seem that important any more compared to what you are experiencing. You may even feel the urge to go back down to the street and invite the cab driver to join you on your climb to the top. Other times you will be sure that the cab driver will be there on the roof another day at his own time, and you will wish him Godspeed and go about your day. But either way, you will now be living in both Heaven and Earth because you are aware of so much more than your initial vision permitted you to see

Spirit: We love you so much. I am sure that you realize that by now, children. It is not the way that is long and hard that is the only way to Truth, contrary to what many theologians propose. It is the way that is joyful and spiritually filled that can bring you Truth the fastest. But YOU are the one who chooses the path. If you can only allow yourself to walk the narrow and difficult pathway strewn with guilt and anger, then your lessons will not be as joyous and happy.

Our goal now that you have reached up and out to us is to show you how to choose the positive, Light-filled, joyous path which fills your heart and soul with Love and Light. Look over to us, reach out and smile, even laugh out loud with us. Laughter, too, is bringing you one step closer on your way to spiritual fullness. You can never get "too much Heaven" for there is always more to discover, and we are here to be your Teachers and your playmates along the joy-filled path! We love you. We want you to know that. Be filled with love and laughter, and know that God loves you.
