About Channeling

Learner: We lost some of your message the other night when our tape recorder broke.

Spirit: Ah! But you do not need to be concerned, for you understand, of course, that it is only you who do not recall. I surely know that which I spoke!

Learner: I am just saying that the other night we lost it, and so we have nothing from then.

Spirit: You do not need to concern yourself of these minor trivialities. For where do I go, dear friend? I do not forget that which I desire to bring forth. So you do not need to feel as if a paper for a presentation has been shredded and no longer resides within anyone’s memory bank.

Spirit: Channeled information should be spiritual information. Even the jokes and playful comments should be of high vibration. Otherwise, why participate? Unless all communicating parties protect the sanctity of the communication, it can degrade into meaningless drivel that might harm by content. But even if it did not do that, it would certainly waste communication time that should instead be sowing seeds of growth.

Spirit: We have made ourselves available, at your service, I will say, because we want to be your Guides. So you may say to me, "I want you to come and teach me now, please," and unless there is a good reason why I should not, I will be there. An example of a reason that I might not comply would be that your state of health might not allow it, or you might be driving your automobile and need to stay focused on that and not become entranced and have an accident. You might be grieving heavily and not be able to hold my vibrations or to clearly focus on my message. You might need me to surround you with my energy far more than you need me to teach you with words. For reasons like these, I might refuse to answer your call for what you often refer to as formal lessons, but generally I will come to teach you whenever you have prepared to receive spiritual lessons and have asked me to come. I committed myself to do this when I contracted to become your Master Teacher Guide.

Spirit: It is not necessary that you believe that every channeled message is one hundred percent correct. In fact, as we have told you, it will usually not be. So it is fine if you say you cannot yet accept what we have just taught you. You may tell us, "I don't think I got that," or "I don't think I understood that exactly." We will even tell you sometimes, "You did not get that right. You got this number wrong. You got this word wrong. You misunderstood what I meant." We will tell you, and we will repeat the lesson. So don’t worry. Just be as clear as you can. You do your part, and what you bring through will be mostly correct. That is the best you can expect when communicating on two planes of existence.

Spirit: Rules for proper communication through the veil include the manner in which a subject is handled, and the limits that the medium and the communicating spirit set. You have the right to state your expectations and your limits. In addition, the communicating spirit can also state to anyone communicating with them that they do not wish to be spoken to or about in such a manner. For example, if you or your guests were speaking to me in a manner which I found offensive, I have the right to ask you not to speak that way, and if you continue, I have the right to refuse to communicate with you

Rudeness is always cause for alarm, because it does not stem from Love. I am speaking of rudeness on anyone's part, on either plane. If you tell me that you are embarrassed by the word ketchup, then I am rude to continually refer to ketchup when I can say very easily "the red tomato sauce you sometimes put on your hot dogs."

Be on guard for any spirit communication that seems out of line. Your Guides have absolutely no excuse ever for broaching your standards or those established here by the Assembly of High Councils. None of us can plead ignorance, because we are all very well aware of your belief system and your standards, as well as our own set of laws. It is possible that we might say something and not intend it at all the way you took it. We will immediately apologize if that is the case, and we will plead with you that we did not mean to offend you. And you will not see it reoccur. Your Guides are all taught well about you. If we did not know you, we could not guide you. We must know "what makes you tick," as you say, and we must be able to read you with scrupulous detail. So you are correct to expect all communication with us to be based in Love – appropriate, uplifting, and helpful to your search for spiritual growth.

When you channel, because you have asked me to take on the role of your Control and I have accepted with honor and with help from your other Guides, I would not permit anyone to speak through whose energy would harm you. So even though you may at times bring through feelings of sadness or feelings from a past life that seem a little unpleasant as an example of a lesson that Guide is teaching, they are merely the feelings that your Guide has carefully chosen to share with you in order to help you learn. I ensure that the being who is speaking is from the Light and although in such a case he may express a little bit of unhappiness from a past life in order to demonstrate that he understands your question or to emphasize his lesson, that sadness is not something that is going to harm you as long as it is a Guide from the Light you are channeling. You have a powerful Master Teacher Guide on duty as your Control Guide when you channel.

Spirit: The wisdom that we bring to you is the wisdom of the Godspirit. All wisdom is of the Godspirit. The wisdom that a parent teaches his child is ultimately from the Godspirit. It becomes the parent’s only temporarily as he uses it. He then channels it to his child. The wisdom we want to bring to you is the understanding of what life is about and where we are headed. We voluntarily open to Light and Wisdom from the Godspirit, allow it into our being and allow it to flow through us as we channel it to our Learners on Earth and students here.

Spirit: Realize that sometimes when you are channeling us, things break your concentration and break your focus. When this happens, the relationship between what I send and what you receive is broken. But the good thing about this time when you did not receive my message is that when you heard nothing, you did not try to fill it in with your own chatter. You really listened, and you really knew when you were hearing nothing from me. This is a very good thing, a very positive thing. Do not worry. Be glad that you can tell the difference between when I am speaking and when I am not. These are all stepping stones. It does not mean that I’m not trying to put something through. It means that somewhere along the way there is a little break in the wire, you might say, in the connection.

Learner: Why do there seem to be so few people who can communicate clearly through the veil and channel your thoughts compared to so many who cannot? Are the ones who can do this chosen by God to do this work?

Spirit: No, not really; not in the way that I think you mean. The reason I say this is because God actually desires for everyone to go within and communicate with him this easily. It is not necessary to be able to channel in order to do this, and channeling is not what every soul wants to do once they incarnate. If they do want to channel, to act as a conduit the messages from this side, then they are expected to study and practice.

No one of those such as you mentioned is sent to Earth to be what you would term, "God’s gift to mankind" by bringing through messages from this side. The ability is available to be obtained, and the skills can be achieved by those who desire to learn to communicate. Yes, some will find this easier than others, just as some baseball players find it easier to learn to jump high into the air, catch a ball, twist and throw it in one smooth move. But that does not mean that athletes who cannot reach the top "rung" in ability cannot play at all.

There are many good athletes who are important parts of their teams who will never make the Baseball Hall of Fame. Yet their teams needed them just as surely as they needed the most proficient players.

Probably the mark of those who are best at bringing through messages from the other side is their determination not to give up, and their dedication to practice and study to improve. As soon as any who do this work begin to believe that they are so good, so learned, that they do not need to work to keep their own spiritual home clean or that they do not need to strive to learn and to grow, the quality of the messages they bring declines until eventually no one will trust the assistance their messages should offer.

If any so-called worker from the Light makes himself or herself the most important part of the message, beware. Look for and listen to those who continue to insist that they are but the telephone, the messenger, and never the caller, never the message. I hope this helps.

Spirit: We Spirit Guides have to prepare to be in this space of communication with you. This is true when you come here (Astral Plane) to visit us and it is true when we come to you. We have to prepare our energy in a certain way. You have to be at the train station in order to get on a train. It doesn't come to your house and pick you up. You have to be prepared. You have to be suitably clothed and suitably ticketed, and be ready to get on the train when it arrives at the station. You have to be standing close enough that you can get to the train before it is ready to leave the station, and so on. We have to do this. It may seem to you that we are just walking in and sitting down to chat, and that is the way we want it to seem to you, since your vantage point is physical. But in reality, we are adjusting our energy. We are moving into a different cycle, a different level of vibration. Once we do this, then we can communicate with you through your channeling abilities. We may also use your visualization abilities, your clairvoyance or your clairaudience or clairsentience, and so on. There are many ways to communicate with you, but whatever method is used, we must be trained and we must work at it and prepare. Just as we ask you to meditate in order to optimize your ability to understand us clearly, so must we adjust our own vibrations in order to help you understand clearly what we are teaching.

In reality, there is no veil between us except the one you on Earth visualize and unintentionally create. We speak of a veil in order to indicate the difference of mindset, the different level of viewpoint and of vibratory rate. But there is actually no separation between us except what you imagine and by imagining, create. The energy that we all are intermingles and reaches out to each other. In whatever form we take, we are able to communicate, to exchange energies, to clearly hear and to respond to each other, and to give and receive love. That is, unless bridges are torn down, mountains moved onto the pathways, doors of steel erected and slammed. These things can, of course, interfere with the very natural, very easy, flow of information and communication between us.

Spirit: The key word for your meditations is relaxation. Cherish this word. Eat it. Digest it. Integrate it fully. Relax in every area of your life, with a conscious determination to do so, and this will help your channeling and journeying more than anything else you might do. Sure, there are techniques and practices that will help, and we will talk about them, but none of them are any good unless you are able to relax and let channeling and mediumship be the natural ability for you that it really is.

Do not buy into the theory that parts of your society hold that communication with discarnate Guides and Teachers is something difficult or rare that must be strained toward with much effort. I seriously doubt that any who strive in this way achieve the type of connection they hope for. It would be like trying to dial a telephone by using a sledge hammer to strike each key rather than lightly touching the keypad with your finger. If you did not destroy the telephone with the sledge hammer, if any contact at all was made, it would probably be with an operator wanting to teach you how to properly use your instrument before it was completely destroyed.

Remember that communicating with your Higher Self, with all of your Teachers and Guides, and with any others here is the most natural thing in all of creation. Your present primary mode of communication – talking – is what requires the strain and effort to be certain you are properly expressing yourself.

So ask for lessons on relaxation. Seek out the areas of your everyday life that exhibit a need for improvement in this area and meditate upon them. Ask your Master Teacher Guides for insight or for another viewpoint to think about. That is what we are here for.

Embrace relaxation. Allow it to become your signature, and watch your channeling and psychic powers flow to you in new surges that have only been waiting for the doors to ease themselves open again. Relax about who you are and why you are here. Let it be. Let it all be. Think about it if it draws you. Meditate upon it. But never strain or worry about it.

Trust Spirit. Know that we are, and know that you are. When you doubt everything and everyone, you are denying your own eternal existence. You are not giving yourself permission to be, and so of course you cannot relax, because you are constantly struggling to be born. You may exist in physical form and yet never have given yourself recognition to be who you are, to be your true spiritual self, with all that that includes.

Take responsibility for being, and assume your power – but with Love and laughter, with a light step and a light touch. Put away the clenched fist, the knotted stomach, and that awful sledge hammer. Open your hands and arms to Spirit. Think of Love genuinely flowing and freely expressed and see the efficiency of the gentle, loving touch in your work. See yourself the way we do – as liquid Light, moving, flowing energy, constantly changing colors and lights, expanding and contracting, moving in various directions, but always with easy fluidity.

Sometimes you will, indeed, be part of powerful expressions of energy, and you will feel that strength and forcefulness – much like the energy of the water in your Niagara Falls. But see the naturalness and the positive energy exchange of such a flow compared to that in one of your tightly controlled, forced manmade structures.

Being relaxed does not mean you never feel the rush of excitement and strength. Indeed, relaxation allows you to be much more sensitive to even the slightest nuances of change within your energy system, because the quietness in your center allows you to hear even slight whispers. When your heart is filled with the noisy grunts and groans and wailings of strain and effort all the time, there is much that you miss hearing and feeling, and we who seek to communicate sometimes find ourselves needing to shout, you might say, to establish any communication at all. So let’s really focus on relaxation as our keyword this year. Together we will make this a year of growth and insight – but always we will approach it, encircle it, and merge with it in a relaxed and joyful manner. Then it will truly become us.

Spirit: As for mistakes mediums can make, some are quite innocent, but still wrong. Pat, we may be sending the name "Bernie" and you may believe you receive "Birdie" or "Barney." We may send the date of 1852 and you may get only three of the numbers right. You can see how this simple, 75% accurate, reception presents the opportunity for a huge variance in dates. Also, we may actually have said 1852 BC, and maybe you didn’t get or understand the last part. Big difference. Don’t worry, and don’t stop channeling, because you will never ever be 100% correct with every transmission. You may well receive all of one teaching correctly, but maybe another one will be only 60% right. This is, has always been - and will always be - true of the best, most successful, most useful channels and mediums on your planet.

If what you have presented is glaringly wrong, we will teach again and correct it. That is our concern and our job, and we are good at it, so do not worry. Your responsibility in our communication is to study and to meditate and pray and learn in an effort to offer us as clear a channel as possible, as clean a pipeline, as strong a telephone connection – however you want to visualize it. You are to work on keeping the instrument - you - in good working shape. We are to work on bringing you good teachings that will help all who hear our messages through you.

Spirit: We Guides sometimes send things we think are very obvious and clear and our Learners totally miss them. And sometimes we get our timing mixed up and send you information about things that haven’t happened yet, and you think we are wrong and then six months later what we talked about comes about and makes sense to you. When that happens, it is our error. Unless we are purposely predicting, that is not what we intend to do. We do not intend to confuse you.

Spirit: Always depend on the Truth within you. Trust your own knowingness. If it seems like a channeled message, be sure that it is, especially when the words come faster than you could construct the sentences. But remember that even when you know Spirit is speaking through, you are expected to use your own reason and intuition in deciding whether to heed the message or not. You must never abdicate your God-given Free Will.

Spirit: When you connect with us to channel us, you will often feel as if you already know the information we are teaching. This is because your Higher Self does already know much of what we are teaching you. But once you are out of trance, it may seem as if it is new knowledge because you are opening your personality’s awareness for the first time. In order to use this knowledge to grow while you are living as a physical being on Earth, you must become aware of these truths with your conscious mind. Much of what we are teaching you is simply reminding you of what your soul already knows very well. We are prompting you to remember and recognize the Truth in what we are teaching you.

It is not brand new information we just discovered or thought of; what we teach is the same Truth that you will find in your Christian bible, in the Talmud, or in the Mahabharata, in the Analects, in Native American legends, and so on. Truth is simply Truth, and your soul knows this Wisdom. But if you are to grow in Light during your present incarnation, your consciousness needs to make the choice to become aware, accept, and follow that Wisdom. It does not do any good to know something if you do not practice it. So God commissioned your Spirit Guides to remind you, to give you things to think about and opportunities to learn and re-learn what you need in order to hold more Light and Love.
